As usual there are no black and white solutions, but only degrees of "openness", I am not really sure at this moment if it is accurate to call Red Hat an OOS or a semi-open OS, given that Red Hat degree of openness is much lower than Debian or even more Puppy, and surely windows is on the other hand more of a closed proprietary system than OSX.
